What we do

Built in courses,
like the roof itself

Six trades under one license. One project manager from first inspection to final nail — you will never be handed off to a call center.

Storm & insurance

Hail hits.
We handle the rest.

Most Austin homeowners under-claim because the adjuster's first number is not the last number. We document the damage, meet the adjuster on your roof, and argue the scope for you.

Step 01

Free inspection

We photograph every slope, vent and flashing and give you an honest verdict — including "your roof is fine."

Step 02

Claim filed

We assemble the damage report and file with your carrier. You sign; we do the paperwork.

Step 03

Adjuster meeting

A Sprout project manager is on the roof with the adjuster so nothing gets missed or written down small.

Step 04

Build & close-out

One-day tear-off and install where possible. Final invoice matches the approved scope. No surprises.

Already have a claim number?

Send it to us before
the adjuster comes out.

We will be on the roof with them. Homeowners who meet their adjuster alone routinely get a repair scope where a replacement was warranted — and reopening a closed claim is far harder than getting it right the first time.

Run the numbers

Know your number
before we ever show up.

No sign-up, no email. Two quick tools that answer the questions every homeowner actually has — what you would pay, and what it would cost per month.

Financing

Nobody plans
for a new roof.

Hail does not check your savings balance first. If the claim does not cover it, or you are replacing ahead of a failure, you can spread it out.

Illustrative terms — confirm with lender before publishing. Financing provided by third-party lenders; approval and rates subject to credit.

Anatomy of a roof

Every part
has a name

Most homeowners nod through a five-figure decision in a language they were never taught. Here it is on a real roof — open the full guide and tap any part to see what it does, why it matters, and how it fails.

They were timely, detail-oriented and easy to work with after the hail storm. They went above and beyond to make sure every inch was repaired, and processed our insurance claim seamlessly.

I was skeptical at first. Sprout proved me wrong in the best way — exceptional workmanship, and they kept me informed at every stage instead of going quiet for a week.

The roof went on flawlessly and the attic is noticeably cooler since they redid the ventilation. One crew, one point of contact, no finger-pointing.

not one.

Most roofers back their own labor and stop there. As a certified IKO RoofPro, Sprout can register your roof for manufacturer coverage a standard contractor is not authorized to offer.

Straight answers

How it actually
works.

The roof and insurance world runs on jargon and half-truths. Here is the plain version — what a claim looks like, what tends to come out of your pocket, and the myths that cost homeowners money.

Myth

A hail claim means buying a whole new roof

Reality

On a covered claim with a Replacement Cost (RCV) policy, your carrier pays the cost to replace the roof, less your deductible — the price of the roof isn’t your bill. What you actually pay depends on your policy (RCV vs. ACV) and deductible. We’ll walk the numbers with you before anything starts.

Myth

My neighbors got new roofs, so I qualify

Reality

Damage is assessed roof by roof. A nearby storm is strong evidence, not proof your roof was hit — only an on-roof inspection confirms real damage. That inspection is free, and it’s the honest first step.

Myth

A repair is always cheaper than a replacement

Reality

Sometimes a repair is exactly right — and we’ll tell you so. But patching a roof near the end of its life can cost more over a few years than replacing it once. We show you both numbers and let you decide.

Myth

The roofer decides what insurance pays

Reality

Your carrier’s adjuster writes the scope and decides coverage. We document the damage and advocate for a complete, code-compliant scope — but we’re a roofing contractor, not an adjuster, and we say so plainly.

How does a roof insurance claim actually work?

You (or we) file with your carrier. An adjuster inspects and writes a scope of loss. On an RCV policy the carrier issues an initial check for the roof’s depreciated value, you complete the work, and the remaining “recoverable depreciation” is released — usually two checks. On an ACV policy the carrier pays the depreciated value only. We document every slope so the scope is complete, and coordinate with your adjuster.

How much will I actually pay out of pocket?

It depends on your policy. On a covered RCV claim, your out-of-pocket is generally your deductible plus any upgrades your policy doesn’t cover; on an ACV policy it can be more, because depreciation isn’t recoverable. We’re not insurance adjusters, so we won’t promise a number — but our free calculators let you see the shape of it before you ever file.

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most residential roofs are torn off and re-installed in one to two days once materials are on site. Larger, steep, tile or commercial roofs take longer. We give you a real timeline before we start — not an optimistic guess.

Will filing a hail claim raise my rates?

Weather and hail claims are generally treated differently from at-fault claims, and rate impacts vary by carrier, policy and claim history. We can’t promise it won’t change your premium — that’s between you and your insurer — so ask your carrier directly before you file. What we can promise is an honest inspection so you only file when it makes sense.

Repair or replace — how do I know which I need?

An inspection decides it. If a targeted repair will get you real years at a fair price, that’s what we recommend. If the roof is near the end of its life or the damage is widespread, we’ll show you why replacement is the better spend. Either way you get photos, the honest call, and both numbers.

Do I need to be home for the inspection or the work?

Not required, but it helps to be there for the inspection walkthrough so we can show you exactly what we found. For the install, you’re welcome to be home or not — we photograph every stage for your file regardless.
